Life in an Industrial city

The life of a factory worker was very hard. 

Low wages, poor housing, cold, overcrowded streets, no toilets or clean water, it stank!

Because of the open sewers and garbage everywhere diseases spread easily. Many people died or got sick. 

Different groups

Only few people profit from industry; bourgeoise; rich citizens

Most bourgeoise were liberals; freedom with minimum rules

Most labourers were socialists; they fight for better circumstances to work in
