Éléments de cette leçon

Slide 1 - Diapositive

Learning goals
- I can describe what's going on, using the present continuous
- I know the difference between the present simple and the present continuous
- I can ask and answer questions using the present continuous

Slide 2 - Diapositive

Remember the present continuous?
He is singing "We don't talk about Bruno"
I'm not listening to it because I'll never get it out of my head!
Are you singing along to it?

Our cats are running around like crazy again.
The dogs aren't behaving that crazily.
Is your cat doing anything funny at the moment?

Slide 3 - Diapositive

Describe the picture!
On the next slide, you will see a picture. In your notebook, write down what the people in the picture are doing, and not doing.
Use a present continuous, for example "A little boy is building a sandcastle."
You'll have time to enter your answers in a minute.

Slide 5 - Diapositive

Slide 6 - Carte mentale

Present simple

Signaalwoorden:
Always, Usually, Often, Sometimes, Rarely, Never, on Mondays, every weekend. Kan ook zonder signaalwoorden voorkomen.

I play football every Saturday.
I don't watch Netflix a lot
Does your father teach Geography?

Present continuous

Signaalwoorden:
At the moment, now, right now, currently, Look! Listen!

I'm listening to the teacher
You're dancing like nobody's watching
Are you playing a game right now?

Slide 7 - Diapositive

Aanpak
Present continuous.
4. Tijd gevonden? Nu nog maken. Kijk eerst of je moet ontkennen of vragen. Vul dan de bijbehorende tijd in.

Here's what we're going to do
1. You write ten taboo questions. You can ask anything you want, no matter how awkward it is, as long as it's in the present simple or the present continuous. More advanced students can also use the present perfect: Have you ever.....
BUT
2. You don't know whether you're going to be asking or answering the questions.
3. You work in pairs, but not with the person you're sitting next to.
4. One of you finds a dice-app. 1, 2 or 3 on the dice? You ask the question and the other person has to answer it. 4, 5, or 6? You read out one of your questions and you answer it yourself.
5. Done? Get started on the homework. Homework is: look through everything you need to study for the test (words of unit 4, grammar of units 3 and 4) so you can ask questions and take the diagnostic test next week.
