What is (flash) fiction?

Leerlingen schrijven een flash fiction verhaal gebaseerd op iets dat hun geïnspireerd heeft tijdens een schoolvak of -activiteit. Dat noemen we the spark. Ze schrijven geen samenvatting maar gebruiken the spark als een springplank naar andere ideeën of gedachtes. Hier maken ze een fictief kort verhaal van.

Elk ingezonden stuk bestaat uit 2 delen:

- A story created by yourself

- inspired by a certain moment.

 

- may be fictional, could be real-life inspired.

• Think of interesting things that you have learned from today's or yesterday's lessons (any subject).

AHA-moments

Your assignment - brainstorm

- Think of a moments that kept you thinking (Aha moment)

Make mini mindmaps...

Pick one and and answer these questions:

• What strikes you about the AHA moment? 
• What moved you? Or made you think?
  
   Look at the AHA moment differently:
• What if it took place in a different time?
• What if I look at it from a different perspective:
    a different person, thing?
  
• What if it took place in a different place?

What to write?

• The spark: 

a short description of the  'aha' moment. Why have you chosen this moment and how have you turned it into a story? No more than 75 words.

• The Flash Fiction: 

a fiction story of maximum 150 words.

How to write enjoyable flash fiction stories

• Use strong imagery (meaningful words).
• Stick to one moment.
• Work with just one or two characters.
• Try first person point of view.
• Surprise your reader.
