Much of many?

Much en many betekenen allebei ‘veel’.

For example: I haven't got many shoes.
There is much money in his bag.

Slide 4 - Diapositive

A lot of / lots of
In plaats van much / many wordt ook a lot of / lots of gebruikt.
  • There are lots of/ a lot of sweets in the bowl.
  • A lot of/ lots of people came to the concert.
MAAR:
There aren't many sweets left.

Slide 5 - Diapositive

En ook:
Na woorden als so, too en how moet je, ook in bevestigende zinnen, much / many gebruiken:

I know how much work you have done.
There are only so many hours in a day.

Every day I buy some sweets in the canteen.
My brother can't eat any nuts, he's allergic.

SOME / ANY
Some en any hebben dus dezelfde betekenis,
