We use passives when...
It does not matter WHO does the action.
We do that by switching the
subject
(onderwerp) with the
object
(lijdend voorwerp) and changing the
verb
accordingly.
He
cooked
dinner
yesterday.
Dinner
was cooked
(by
him
) yesterday.

Past Simple Passive
The dog
chased

passive
Past simple passive form:
REGULAR = was/were + verb + -ed
IRREGULAR = was/were + verb (3rd row)

Past continuous passive form:
REGULAR VERBS = was/were + being + verb + ed
