Regular verbs: ed

Irregular verbs: Learn by heart! (p 175, 176, 177)

(Bought / caught / flew / etc)

Past simple

Something happened in the past and it's finished.

No connection to the present.

#2 Past continuous

It was raining all night!

We were playing videogames all morning

Was / Were & verb +ing

Past continuous

Something was going on for a longer period of time in the past

PS & PC

Both in 1 sentence:

I was washing the car when the accident happened.

PS interrupts the PC

#3 Present perfect

I have worked here since 2019

He has never cooked diner before.

Have / Has + past participle

Present Perfect

Something happened in the past -> still going on / Connection to present
