At the end of the lesson the student:

-can use the different future tenses

- knows about the layout and scoring of the test.

Which ones of the following is the future?

1. Simple tense
2. continuous tense
3. future tense
4. will

Future tense (simple)

Just use the present simple with a signal word:

"The bus leaves."

Present simple = subject + verb

SHIT = subject + (verb+s)

The bus leaves at 5 pm.

It is used for scheduled events.

Create a sentence using the simple future tense.

Future continuous tense

The same logic can be applied to the continuous form!

I am eating a breakfast burrito.

I am eating a breakfast burrito tomorrow.

Present continuous = subject + am/are/is + (verb+ing)

For arrangements where the location and time are certain.

Make a sentence in the continuous future.

to be going to - future

They are going to get Maccie D's.

for plans or predictions based on proof.

"See those dark clouds? I think it is going to rain."

Will future

Is used for PDP

-promises

-decisions

-predictions

P - Noah promises he will stay over tonight.

D - My father will retire next year.

P - We will win the lottery this year, for sure!

Important!

For questions you use "shall" with we and I and "will" with you, he / she / it and they.

Shall we go to the swimming pool?

Will Liz travel the world after she finishes secondary school?
