bijvoorbeeld lopen of een vreemde taal spreken.
Ook gebruik je deze ww als je praat over een vaardigheid.

Gebruik je ook voor suggesties en beleefde vragen.

Could you give me the salt, please? > beleefde vraag

dat je in staat bent om iets te doen of dat iets mogelijk is.

Als iets jou tijdelijks wordt opgelegd van tijdelijke aard, dan betekent dat dat je het tijdelijk niet kunt maar later wel weer.

Voorbeelden:
I broke my leg, so I am not able to ride my bicycle.
She isn't able to swim because of her back injury.
