Welcome to your English lesson

After this lesson you should..

1. Know the class rules.
2. Know exactly what PTA's will be done. 
3. Know what is expected of you
4. know that English is FUN!

Class rules:

1. When you enter the classroom,  quietly take your seat, take off your jacket and oortjes. 
2. Take out your  english books (notepad etc) and pen/s. If you do not have a notepad and a pen, a note will be made on SOM and you will have to catch up on the work done during the lesson after your other classes for the day.  After the second time, parents and mentors will be emailed. 

Class rules:

3. No eating or drinking (except water off course) during the lesson. 

4. When we are talking and explaining, all laptops have to be closed unless we ask you to open them.

Learner Profile

It is very important to note that you have to keep all your literature handouts, notes, projects etc in a file. 

You will need this to complete your IB Learner Profile in your final year.

What are we doing this term? 

PIF: Personal Idiom File

You will use the Alquin magazine articles done during lessons to complete your Personal Idiom file.

Roahl Dahl Short Stories

You will be divided into groups. 

Each group will read and analyse one Short story. 

One person in each group will share what they learnt with the rest of the class in preparation for a test. 

You will have to make notes and use the notes during the test.

You are required to watch 2 documentaries per week at home and complete a Report on each one of them per week. This has to be shown to me during the first lesson of the week.

Should this not be done, you will be expected to complete the report during the inhaaluur.
