. *I asked all of you to watch a documentary or movie on the vietnam war and make notes while watching.
*Please get your notes out of your bag, you will need them for our first assignment.

*Look at the piece of paper in the middle of your group of tables.
*Each one of you is going to get his or her own section to write in

Assignment 1: What are you going to write about?
. *Each one of you will write down what you already know about the Vietnam War or what you think of when you hear the words Vietnam War.
*This can be anything! There are no wrong answers, write down anything and everything that comes to mind, use your notes!

*Each one of you will get 1 minute to talk about the things you have written down and why you wrote them down.
*After everyone has done this, you will have another minute to fill the blank space in the middle of the paper, using components from each individual person's knowledge.

*One person out of each group is going to present your group's thoughts and ideas about the Vietnam War to the rest of the class.
*If there is a group with no volunteers to speak, the wheel of misfortune on the next page will decide your fate!

*Who can name an example of propaganda?

*We are going to take a look at a few pieces of war propaganda.
*There are 2 sides to the war, pro and anti. Some of these fit the first, others the latter
*We are going to take a look at and talk about each piece, write down the answers to the questions on your worksheet

Assignment 2: Pick your side
*The group will be divided into groups of 4
*I will give group side 2 minutes to pick a piece of propaganda and come up with ways to defend it.
*After this, each group will have their chance to convince the class of how good their piece of propaganda is.

Creating propaganda
*Now that you have seen and talked about 2 pieces of war propaganda, it is time to get creative
*Create your own piece of Vietnam War propaganda, you may do this on your laptop, or on paper
*You can choose if your propaganda will be pro or anti-war!
