Information oral exam

Be aware of the following words for your novel:

Theme, setting, narrative perspective, flashbacks, flashforwards, methaphor, character (flat/round).

Questions could be asked like:

• The book deals with the theme LOSS, can you explain that?

• Why is the character behaving this way? Why is he or she making this choice?

• From which perspective is the book written?

• What symbols or objects are reoccurring in the book and why are they of importance?

Round-robin discussion

• Stand up and form two rows between tables (in both pathways)
• Turn to face your neighbour.
• Discuss the prompt for 1 minute, fill the time!
• Left row shifts up one person.
• Repeat!

Topics

1. Employers and schools should be allowed to tell people how to wear their hair.
2. (Social) media literacy should be a subject in school.
3. Governments should provide free housing for homeless people
4. The corona vaccine should be mandatory (verplicht)
5. Kids who fail their classes should take summer school instead of repeating the year.
