Wanneer gebruik je de 'Present Continuous'?

• Als iets aan de gang is op het moment dat je erover spreekt of schrijft.
• Iets is dus op dit moment aan het gebeuren. 

Hoe ziet de present continuous eruit?

am / are / is + werkwoord + ing

He is working at the moment.

Voorbeeld

I am screaming at my computer right now.

Timmy is sitting on a warm toilet seat.

The cats are pushing all the buttons in the elevator.

Let op!

Als het werkwoord eindigt op een -e, dan laat je deze weg als je -ing toevoegt.

to dance - I am dancing to the music. 

to love - She is loving this grammar. 

Let op!

Als het werkwoord één lettergreep heeft en eindigt op een klinker + medeklinker verdubbel je de laatste medeklinker.

to rap       -  My sister is rapping to the beat. 

to run       - My mum is running a marathon.
