When to use which?

The rule

Much gebruik je voor "uncountable" nouns = zelfstandige naamwoorden die je niet kunt tellen, bv money
Many gebruik je voor "countable" nouns = zelfstandige naamwoorden die je wél kunt tellen, bv coins. 

Trucje: kun je een telwoord voor het woord zetten? Dan gebruik je many.

I don't have much money.

I don't have much time now. 

I haven't heard much information

a lot of = veel

In bevestigende zinnen wordt veel meestal vertaald met
a lot of 

Dat mag voor zowel telbare als ontelbare woorden. 

In vragende en ontkennende zinnen gebruik je altijd
much of many
