Multiplying by 10, 100, 1000
When multiplying by 10, 100, 1 000, etc. the values of the digits do not change, but the place value of each digit is increased. Represented in a place value table, the digits are moved to the left. In other words, the decimal point is moved to the right.
To multiply a decimal number by a power of ten, move the decimal point by as many places as the power of ten has zeros.
For example, to multiply by 100, move the decimal point two places to the right
