Multiplying by 10, 100, 1000

• When multiplying by 10, 100, ⁣1 000, etc. the values of the digits do not change, but the place value of each digit is increased. Represented in a place value table, ⁣the digits⁣ are moved ⁣to the left. In other words, the ⁣decimal point⁣ is moved ⁣to the right. ⁣
• To multiply a decimal number by a power of ten, move the decimal point by as many places as the power of ten has zeros.
• For example, to multiply by 100, move the decimal point two places to the right
• 2.22 x 1000 =
