When I was a kid my mom told me many fairy tales.
Which fairy tales do you know?

Little Red Riding Hood:    Put the pictures in the correct order

Little Red saw very beautiful flowers under a tree. She stopped and picked some for her granny.

A few minutes later, she reached the house. She looked at the wolf and asked some questions.

The wolf ran away and they never saw it again.
And they lived happily ever after.

One day, she went to visit her granny. She had a nice cake in her basket.

On the way, a wolf saw her. The wolf was very hungry. The wolf arrived at Granny’s home before the little girl.

Do you see a pattern?

2. She stopped and picked some flowers for her granny.

3. On the way, a wolf saw her. The wolf was very hungry.

4. She reached the house. She looked at the wolf and asked some questions.

Past Simple - Regular verbs

Spelling:

Let op, er verandert niets als het werkwoord eindigt op twee medeklinkers of  klinker + -y:

• I talk - I talked      -         I play - I played

Als een werkwoord eindigt op -e, dan komt er in de past simple alleen een -d achter:

• I live - I lived

In de past simple wordt de laatste medeklinker verdubbeld als er één klinker voor staat:

• I drop - I dropped

Als een werkwoord eindigt op een medeklinker + -y, dan verandert de -y in -ie:

• I carry - I carried

It was my sister's birthday, so I ___________ her a nice gift.

Past Simple - Irregular verbs

Some verbs in English are irregular, this means that in the past tense they don't get '-ed' at the end, but have their own form.

To write -> wrote; I wrote her a letter last week

to go -> went; He went to Italy last year

to make -> made: They made a very nice meal two days ago
