Task: Longest rivers 

• Use the atlas to find all the rivers and write the numbers on the worksheet.

• Use the name index to find them.

Let's find a river together!

1. We use the 'Diercke International Atlas' in pairs.

2. We look for the index in the back of the atlas.

Everything is 

in alphabetical order...

Look for the Congo river!

Did you find it?

3. Look for 'Congo river'.

4. Write down the page number, 

and letter/number combination.

5. Together, turn to page 164. 

6. Check the squares C3-D4

There's the Congo river!
