Present continuous:
am/are + infinitive (= whole verb) + ing
Dutch: 'ben/zijn aan het...', 'zitten te....'
Example: He is reading a book tonight.
Something is happening for some time NOW.

-->  To talk about appointments in the near future
--> Time and place are fixed
To be (not) + infinitive (= whole verb) + ing

  • Plan/not fixed? --> to be (not) going to: "I'm not going to see her anytime soon."
  • uncontrollable things (the weather, etc) --> to be (not going to): "It's going to rain in an hour."
