Reading 

We´re going to start the lesson by reading for about 10 minutes. (either once or twice a week) 

• Why? Since we have a reading exam coming up this felt like a nice way to practice it aside from other reading activities. 
• The teacher will read and you will read along quietly. 
• During the reading session, everyone stays quiet.

Pre- reading 

Read the title of the book. What do you think the book is about? 

What do you know about autism? How do people act that have it? 

Do you know someone that has it? 

Fun fact: the text that is written on the back of a book is called a 'blurb'

What do you think of the way the book is written? 

Do you like it so far? 

Did you think that this is how some people with autism think? 

After answering the questions, you can hand the book in. We'll continue either on wednesday or next week where we left off. 

Creative writing 

• for this activity you need a pen and paper. 
• You're going to write a short story with your partner.
• Each of you first starts the story by writing down one sentence. After each round you have to give your paper to the person sitting next to you. That person has to continue writing your story (one or more sentences). And so on.... 

Creative writing

• Rule: no cuss words or anything inappropriate. Only write using fictional people. 
  
• I might ask some people to read it out loud so be creative and make it funny or even poetic.
• Each round will be a minute long. 
• The teacher will walk around to check how everyone is doing.
• Goal of this activity is for you to write creatively in English. So don't focus too much on grammatical/spelling mistakes.  

Idk how many rounds we'll do in total so well just have to see how its going 

Start writing

You can choose to start your story with ANY sentence but if you don't know what to start with, you can pick one of these:

1. I had never seen a ghost before, until today...

2. Today is the third of July, my 18th birthday but also my last, because...

3. The crash just happened and no one saw it coming..

4. Every morning, I walked to the café just to see him again..

After a couple rounds we will end it and you can read your

stories to your partner.

Irregular verbs part 1: study these words for a minute

Blooket

To practice and memorize these words in a fun way, we're going to play blooket. For this I need you to grab your laptop and go to:

play.blooket.com and enter the code that will appear on the screen. 

It's a game similar to Kahoot. 

Plattegrond 

Ik vind het persoonlijk fijn om met een plattegrond te werken zodat ik zo snel mogelijk alle namen leer kennen en omdat het vaak voor meer rust zorgt.

Dus: Schrijf op mijn formulier naast wie jij graag wilt zitten. Daarna maak ik zelf een plattegrond.
