Present Simple

De present simple gebruik je als iets altijd, nooit of regelmatig gebeurt. 

Bij deze tijd komt de SHIT-regel kijken. Hoe zat dat ook alweer?

Wanneer gebruik je de Present Simple?

1. als iets nu aan de gang is
2. als iets nooit, altijd of regelmatig gebeurt
3. als iets in het verleden is gebeurt
4. als iets onverwachts gebeurt

Wat is een voorbeeld van een signaalwoord bij de Present Simple?

1. always
2. right now
3. well
4. look

Maak de zin af, gebruik de Present Simple:

sing Susan always _______ in the shower.

Wat is de correcte vraagzin van:
"Susan always sings in the shower."

1. Susan don't always sing in the shower.
2. Do Susan always sing in the shower?
3. Does Susan always sings in the shower?
4. Does Susan always sing in the shower?

Wat is de correcte ontkenning van:
"I always sing in the shower."

1. I don't always sing in the shower.
2. I do always not sing in the shower.
3. Does I not always sing in the shower.
4. I doesn't always sing in the shower.

Present Simple

I always walk to school.

She always walks to school. [shit-regel]

I don't always walk to school. 

She doesn't always walk to school.

Do I always walk to school?

Grammar box

Je gebruikt altijd het hele werkwoord, behalve bij he/she/it. Dan voegen we een -s toe achter het werkwoord (shit-regel).

He, she, it --> does (not)

Let op de -s van het ww vervalt in dit geval.

I, you, we... --> do (not)

Hoe maak je de present continuous?

vorm van to be (am, is, are) + ww + -ing

1. John_________________ (read) a book now.

2. Jack and Peter _____________ (work) late today.

3. Maria ______________ (sit) next to Paul.

4. The phone ______________ (ring) now.

Present Continuous

Bij een vraagzin komt de vorm van to be vooraan in de zin:

I am teaching.     -     Am I teaching?

Bij een ontkenning komt 'not' achter de vorm van to be:

I am teaching.     -     I am not teaching.

1. John is reading a book now.

2. Jack and Peter are working late today.

3. Maria is sitting next to Paul.

4. The phone is ringing.

maak van elke zin een vraagzin en een ontkenning.
