Circle Geometry

Slide 1 - Diapositive

Cet élément n'a pas d'instructions

What do you already know about circles and their properties?

Slide 2 - Carte mentale

Transferring the Midpoint
Transfer the midpoint of a circle to your notebook. Draw a radius in blue and a diameter in red, and label them with M, r = cm, and d = cm.

Slide 3 - Diapositive

Drawing a Complete Circle
Mark a midpoint M and draw circles with various radii (3 cm, 3.5 cm, 40 mm). Label each circle's radius and diameter and measure their lengths.

Labeling and Measuring
For circles with known radii (5 cm, 30 mm), calculate the diameter and verify by measuring. For circles with given diameters (8 cm, 90 mm), calculate the radius first.

Circle Geometry
Midpoint M: The center point of a circle. Radius (r): The distance from the center of the circle to any point on its circumference. Diameter (d): A line segment that passes through the center of the circle and whose endpoints lie on the circle. Circumference: The perimeter or boundary line of a circle.

Write down 3 things you learned in this lesson.

Slide 7 - Question ouverte

Have students enter three things they learned in this lesson. With this they can indicate their own learning efficiency of this lesson.
Write down 2 things you want to know more about.

Slide 8 - Question ouverte

Here, students enter two things they would like to know more about. This not only increases involvement, but also gives them more ownership.
Ask 1 question about something you haven't quite understood yet.

Slide 9 - Question ouverte

The students indicate here (in question form) with which part of the material they still have difficulty. For the teacher, this not only provides insight into the extent to which the students understand/master the material, but also a good starting point for the next lesson.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the lesson you will be able to transfer the center of a circle onto paper. At the end of the lesson you will be able to draw a complete circle with a given radius or diameter. At the end of the lesson you will be able to label the center, radius, and diameter of a circle. At the end of the lesson you will be able to measure the radius and diameter of a circle and verify the measurements through calculation.
