Second passport
  • if you frequently visit countries that are in conflict with each other (Israel/Iran)
  • if you travel a lot and your passport is waiting for a visa at an embassy

Visa: required for some countries (Timatic!)

  • you apply for a visa at an embassy/consulate
  • many types: 
     - tourist visa
     - business visa
     - work visa
     - student visa
     - passengers in transit (doorreis) visa

Special visa:

  • TWOV (transit without visa): arrangement between countries for pax who only have to transfer at an airport where no visa is required. 
  • Visa on arrival: you buy this visa upon arrival (often just a stamp in the passport)

  • Passengers travelling from NL to a Schengen destination will have only a security check;

  • Passengers travelling from NL to a non-Schengen destination
     will have a 
    security check and a passport check
