Present simple / present continuous

Present simple

Gebruik je als iets altijd, nooit of regelmatig gebeurt, of als iets een feit is. Je gebruikt het ook om aan te geven dat iets volgens een rooster/schema gaat.

Signaalwoorden: never, ever, always, often, every day, every week etc.

Hoe ziet ie eruit

- hele werkwoord zonder TO (I work, you work etcetera)

- Bij SHe/He/It komt er een - S achter (he works, she works etc)

- Als je de present simple vragend/ontkennend maakt, heb je een vorm van TO DO nodig: I don't know, does she live in Groningen?

Uitzonderingen

• ww eindigt op  's' of klinkt als 's'                                        +es
  

….bv……..I watch,       He/she watches

• ww eindigt op   y, met een medeklinker ervoor:         +ies
  

….bv…… I cry,           He/she cries

             I try           He/she tries

• ww eindigt op een o, met een medeklinker ervoor   +es

Present continuous 

Gebruik je:

- om aan te geven dat iets NU aan de gang is

- om aan te geven dat iets nog gaat gebeuren (gepland)

- om een ergernis aan te geven

Hoe ziet ie eruit?

- am/is are + ww + ing

- signaalwoorden: now, at the moment, look!, Listen!
