What Are English Expressions?

English expressions are phrases or idioms that have a specific meaning beyond the individual words used. They are commonly used in spoken and written language.

List a maximum of 5 English expressions you already know.

Types of English Expressions

There are idioms(uitdrukkingen), proverbs(gezegdes), and colloquial expressions. Idioms are phrases that have a figurative meaning, while proverbs are wise sayings passed down through generations. Colloquial expressions are informal words or phrases.

Exercise: Create a Dialogue

Use at least 3 English expressions in a short dialogue. Be creative and make it interesting!
