Past Simple / present Perfect

Main difference:  

Past Simple:  Happened in past - no link with today

I knew him in 2001

Present Perfect: Started in past - link with today

I have known him since 2001

Present perfect

Past Participle = Vt -ed of irreg: (2e rij)
