A moral of a story...

A moral of a story (het moraal van het verhaal) is a lesson that you can learn from a story. In the story of the Emperor's New Clothes, An arrogant emperor is tricked in believing that he is wearing invisible clothes. The emperor is so obsessed with clothes that he spends a lot of money on them. One day, two lying tailors (kleermakers) appear in his court. They tell him they can make the most beautiful clothes which can't be seen by 'normal' people.  The clever tailors  tell him that his clothes are made of the finest invisible fabrics that can only be seen by people who are not stupid. Luckily, for them, the emperor agrees and spends a lot of money on their services. The emperor organizes a parade in which he shows off his 'new clothes'. Everybody pretends that the clothes really exist (because they don't want to appear dumb). Until a small child tells him that he isn't wearing anything at all.  Rather ashamed, the emperor continues his stroll through the streets. 

What is the moral of the story (What is the lesson that you can learn from this story?)
