The present tense in English

When do you use the present simple?

We use the present simple when we talk about:

 - facts, 

- habits, 

- and things we do with regularity.

Example:

Facts: This book has a red color.

Habits: Bart always bites his nails.

Regularity: I play soccer every Wednesday.

I run home.                  Ik ren naar huis.

You run home.          Jij rent naar huis.

He runs home.          Hij rent naar huis.

He, she, it (De SHIT-regel)

For in the word shit there is She, He and It.

- She --> she swims fast.

- He --> he swims fast.

- it --> it swims fast.

If she, he, or it is the subject in the sentence, write a -S after the verb.

She, he and it

"She" can appear in the sentence as: She, Noa, Mrs. Jansen

"He" can be in the sentence as: He, Bruce, Mr. Jansen

"It" can be in the sentence as: It
