How do you complete a skin test?

Skin test

1) Test in the colour you will use

2) Mix colour with 6%

3) Apply a 1cm square to the arm

4) Tell client to rinse after 45 minutes

5) watch the area for 48 hrs

Record cards

Record cards must be completed when:

Completing a colour or perm consultation

Completing a test piece for an incompatibility test, colour test or pre perm test

At the end of any chemical service with FULL DETAILS of what you have done

What do you think will happen if we do not complete a record card for any of the reasons just mentioned?

No record of the colour the client has been skin tested in

No proof of incompatibility test results

No proof of colour or perm test results

Results in a client not being able to have their hair done, or possible damage caused to the hair.
