Take a look at the song on the next page of your workbook and answer the following questions

 1. How many stanzas (coupletten) does the song have?

2. Write down the rhyme-scheme (rijmschema) of the first stanza

3. Is the rhyme-scheme the same for all the stanzas?

4. Is there a lot of repetition (herhaling) in this song?

5. Mark all the sentences that only appear in the song once. What do you

notice?

Read the text on page 3 and answer the questions on page 4 

1. Discuss with your group members if there are any other words that you need to look up in

order to understand the song. 

2. Take a good look at the sentences you marked before (that only appear once). What are they

about? Write them down below:

You’ll now watch a clip from the movie The Hunger Games.

Take the A3-paper and let one group member draw  a placemat on it, 

Everybody gets their own part on the edge. The middle part is for the entire group.

Write down on your part:

1) what you think the song is about

2) how the song makes you feel

3) how you think the song relates to the movie The Hunger Games

Now discuss your answers with your group. Write down the things you agree about in the middle.

Finally, pick one of the following assignments:

1) Make a piece of art about the song and the feelings you get from it.

OR

2) Write your own (English) poem or song that can go with the Hunger Games or with another film or book of your own choice.
