​BLOG RESEARCH

• Independently research and choose 2 different types of circus/freak show attractions and describe them. Add photos. (min of 150 per attraction type)
  

• Research and write down the about the history of Freak Shows: when and why did they start, what was the purpose of them existing, who was part of it, etc. Min 200 words

Week 2 - BLENDED LEARNING

1. Class Objective: conclude Dance WEX workshop rehearse scenes.

1. Skills: independent work, professionalism, self motivation, aiming high, teamwork.

1. Activities:

• fill in daily schedule and upload to blog - progress tracking sheet 
• conclude WEX workshop 
• rehearse scenes within your groups

Week 3 - Day 1 Wednesday

1. Class Objective: have the structure of our show ready by the end of the day + rehearse scenes including final dance.

1. Skills: independent work, professionalism, self motivation, aiming high, teamwork.

1. Activities:

• fill in daily schedule and upload to blog - progress tracking sheet 
• conclude WEX workshop 
• rehearse scenes within your groups

1. Research about Tim Burton: his style, his work, his artistic references, people he collaborated with, etc. Include videos, songs and photos. min 250 words

2.  Research and write down about the Gothic horror style include photos and videos. Min 200 words.

Intimacy in stage productions

Consent

Consent is the right of all parties involved, and should be obtained at every stage of the process. You can retract your consent at any time.

Intimacy can include any physical contact onstage, or implied physical contact, such as coming within inches of another person

Communication

You can be part of the conversation with the creative team and fellow performers. You can speak openly and professionally about the content, using proper names for body parts and activities.

Contract

You should know your contract and discuss any intimacy or nudity requirements with your agent.

Saying no

You can say no to a job if the intimacy or nudity required doesn't sit well with you.

Boundaries

You can advocate for your physical boundaries and "no contact areas". You can also offer an alternative movement that feels right for you.

Intimacy director

You can ask for an intimacy director to be present to help create safe choreography and advocate for your safety. They can help you separate your character's intimacy from your relationship with your colleague.

Safe space

You can work in a safe space where everyone feels comfortable.

Personal vs professional

You don't have to share intimate personal experiences.

• What are the 6 archetypes suggested by Michael Chekhov? In groups of 3 you will write down the six archetypes and demonstrate example for each archetype - 10 min

- Get into your scene groups and make a list of all the props, costume, songs , set that is missing from your scene. 

- Set up  and write down 2 targets for yourself: one related to blog and one related to rehearsals, that needs to achieved by next Wednesday to help you progress in your work.
