Building Blocks B1- Unit 2.2
When you start reading a text it helps if you already know the topic. When you know the topic, the next step is to find out why the writer chose a certain text and what ideas they want to convey in the text.
When you have a general idea of the topic(s) and ideas in a text, you can start reading the complete text.
Now you will learn to find the topic in texts about the future. You'll read about predictions that did or did not come true, warriors in space and artificial intelligence.

Slide 6 - Tekstslide

Building Blocks B1- Unit 2.2
What does the text say about the topic?
In many texts, the writer states what they want to say about the topic in the first or final sentence of a text (or paragraph).

What do you alreading know about the topic?
When you've already spent time thinking about a topic, reading a text about it will be easier.
