1. Werkwoord + ed. 

    I lived in this house when I was younger.

    I cried the whole night.

2. Onregelmatige werkwoorden.

     We went to the cinema last night.

     Peter was at a friend's house yesterday.

My father ................ (work) all day.

Vicky ............. (see) something strange last night.

My parents ............. (be) away for the weekend.

Julie ........... (play) with her little brother.

The teacher ....... (give) a class about the past simple.

Past continuous

Beschrijft gebeurtenissen die bezig waren (iets was aan de gang).

1. een vorm van 'to be':

    was: I, he, she, it

    were: you, we, they

2. werkwoord + ing

I was watching TV, when my father came in.

The students were making their homework, while the teacher was sleeping.

We were singing, when Patrick arrived.
