Five Paragraph Essay
During the testweek we will be writing either a five paragraph essay or a piece of creative writing. In this lesson we will be focussing on the five paragraph essay. It is the form that we have been using over the last few years, so nothing should come as a surprise to you.

Introduction
Hook: the opening of your essay, which draws the reader in.
Trailer: the part where the reader gets a foretaste of what your essay is going to be about.
Thesis: most important line, it tells the reader what your point of view is and you will spend the rest of the essay defending it

Writing an ending
- Don't use completely new information
- Should still be natural
- Surprise yourself and (more importantly) your reader
Do not make the surprise: ........ and then he woke up.
This is so much a cliche that you will bore the reader (certainly me)
