Hoe:
I/you/we/they       walk
he/she/it                walks <-- de -s vorm!
Hulp woorden:
always, never, often, sometimes, in the weekends, every month, on Sundays etc.
Example 
He always does his homework. 
Maggy plays football on Mondays.

Betekenis: (zou) kunnen, mogelijk zijn 
  • Can = waarschijnlijk 
  • Could = iets minder waarschijnlijk 
  • May = nog minder waarschijnlijk 
  • Might = bijna onwaarschijnlijk

  • Can  = het kan
  • Could = het zou kunnen                         (of verleden tijd van can)
  • To be able to = in staat zijn

I can stand on one leg for three minutes.

My cousin was sick, so she wasn't able to come to my party.

  • Can (of could in de VT) = het mag
  • May = het mag,  in formeler taalgebruik
  • To be allowed to = (expliciet) toestemming hebben
