• Hoe maak je de Present Simple?

Wanneer:	Als iets altijd/vaak/soms/nooit gebeurt.
Hoe:	I/you/we/they walk he/she/it walk s <-- de -s vorm!
Hulp woorden:	always, never, often, sometimes, in the weekends, every month, on Sundays etc.
Example	He always doe s his homework. Maggy play s football on Mondays.

Can/could/may/might/...

Betekenis: (zou) kunnen, mogelijk zijn 

• Can = waarschijnlijk 
• Could = iets minder waarschijnlijk 
• May = nog minder waarschijnlijk 
• Might = bijna onwaarschijnlijk

Betekenis: kunnen, vermogen/vaardigheid hebben 

• Can  = het kan
• Could = het zou kunnen                         (of verleden tijd van can)
• To be able to = in staat zijn

My cousin was sick, so she wasn't able to come to my party.

Betekenis: toestemming hebben 

• Can (of could in de VT) = het mag
• May = het mag,  in formeler taalgebruik
• To be allowed to = (expliciet) toestemming hebben

Betekenis: beleefde vraag stellen
