The map gives the animator good reference material for creating his own animated map of Amsterdam at a certain moment in time.

The two paintings show the Dam Square, but from a different point of view. The animator can use this to create a 3D image of the buildings.

Only by combining the information from different sources will the animator be able to create a realistic reconstruction of Amsterdam
