What are words in bold called?
ADJECTIVES
Adjectives are words which we add to give more information about a person, animal or a thing

Position of the adjective
1. Can be right in front of the noun
This is a big house.

2. Can be after the verb 'be'
This house is big.

A STATEMENT
Extra information on verb
I am running.
I am running slowly.
I am running slowly.
I am running terribly slowly
SLOWLY - describes how you are running
(Running is a verb- an action).
ADVERBS describe verbs.
Terribly describes how 'slowly' you are going. 
slowly - is an adverb
So, adverbs can also describe other adverbs.

3rd example of an adverb
1st: I am running slowly. (Adverb describes a verb)
2nd: I am running terribly slowly. (Adverbs describes another adverb)
3rd: This picture is old. -> This picture is incredibly old. (Adverb describes an adjective)

-LY = ADVERBS (but there are expections!)
