The most common prepositions of place

In = in een (gesloten) ruimte of locatie

I am in the classroom. He is in space.

On = op een oppervlakte of openbaar vervoer

My cat Raja eats dinner on the table. Mum is on the roof.

At = op een specifieke plaats of locatie

Today, I am at school. She usually meets her boyfriend at the cinema.

Openbaar vervoer:

in = je moet zitten (taxi)

on = je hoeft niet perse te zitten (bus, plane)

Above = boven

There is a clock above the door

Under = onder

The girl is hiding under the table

Behind = achter

Look at that squirrel behind that tree

In front of = voor

There is a busstop in front of the building

Under / Over = het bedekt iets anders

Between = tussen 2 dingen

Among = tussen meer dan 2 dingen

Around = om / rondom

Walk around the building to get to the other side

Near = (vlak) bij / in de buurt van
