Correct answer: A (sentence 2 had no real connection with sentence 1)

Strategy:

  2. Read carefully before and after the gap.
  3. What would you fill in yourself?
  4. Choose which is most like your own idea.
  5. Check it by reading the two sentences in your head. Does it make sense?

What kind of text is this? Letters to the editor
What is it about? Bike Lane - Lamentations = grief
Strategy:
Read the four sentences. Do you understand these?
Scan the three letters. Which sentence might fit where?
Letter 1: only b and d are possible because they can start an argument. 
Letter 2: is against the bikers. a, b and d are not likely.  So c is correct.
Letter 3: key word is sustainable: b is correct, for it deals with that too.

Strategy: 
  1. Read the four statements (do you know what they mean?) Meanwhile, similarly, therefore
  2. Read carefully before and after the gap.
  3. What would you fill in yourself?
  4. Choose which is most like your own idea.
  5. Check it by reading the two sentences in your head. Does it make sense?
Correct answer: B. Key-word: non-stop indoctrination = immersive.

The article is neutral/objective until the final sentence:
'The Swedes should extend...majority of children.'
The writer is critical, not mad or objective.
The title: Can you make boys play with dolls? does imply that already.
