Modal verbs, when do we use them?

Modal verbs 

Should/ ought to	Used to give advice
must/have to	Used for obligations and strong advice
mustn't	Used when something is not allowed or strong negative advice
don't have to/ don't need to/ needn't	Used to express lack of obligation/necessity
be supposed to	Used when talking about rules or when talking about what people believe/expect to be true

Possibility, probability and certainty

may/might/ could	Used for speculating about possible future events
should	Used for saying something is likely to happen in your opinion
must	Used for talking about things that are definitely true
can't	Used for talking about things that are impossible
be able to	Used for talking about possibility in the future
can/could	Used for talking about general truths/ strong possibilities
