Welcome to TM session 8
Aim: At the end of the lesson, students are able to analyse and interpret a collection of student responses and decide on effective feedback for those responses.

SC: Students can identify evidence of SC in student responses
SC: Students can give the definition of interpreting evidence
SC: Students can give the definition of effective feedback
SC: Students can give examples of effectively formulated feedback

Practical assignment 20 minutes - groups of 4
You will get a student's response to an assignment. To compare their work, open at least one other sample.
  • Study the aim and SC of the assignment
  • Analyse and interpret the responses
  • Decide on feedback
  • Formulate effective feedback for this student

Practical assignment
Aim: At the end of the lesson series, students will be able to  
          write a 150-word review about a (Netflix) film or series.
SC: Students can apply the structure of a review
SC: Students can give their opinion supported with arguments
SC: Students can write simple S-V-O sentences in the present 
        simple
SC: Students can use adjectives correctly in a sentence

Tips, based on formative
  • Add the wordcount
  • Learner info: Refer to week 2 content to help with this. Include CEFR and other frameworks. Refer to theory.
● Do not use "and" in SCs as this means you are combining two SC into one (makes it harder to check / tick the box).
● Format = 3 lessons. Learners need to produce something. Lessons 1+2 = give content to help learners produce something (in/after lesson 2). Lesson 3 = you design this based on the evaluation of the product.
