Wanneer gebruik je welke vorm?

 To be going to

am, are, is + going to + hele werkwoord

When to use: 

• Om aan te geven dat iemand iets in de toekomst van plan is/ plannen die al gemaakt zijn.

I am going to visit my grandparents tomorrow. 

• Een voorspelling waarvan je zeker weet dat het gaat gebeuren (je hebt bewijs).

Look at those grey clouds. It is going to rain.

Will

will+ hele werkwoord

When to use: 

• Om iets aan the bieden, bij beloftes, aankondigingen, verzoeken, wensen en voorspellingen.

The match will start in a few minutes. (aankondiging)

Yes mom, I will clean my room tonight. (belofte)

• Een voorspelling /gebeurtenis zonder dat je weet of het gaat gebeuren. (je hebt GEEN bewijs).

 I think they will win the match.

• Als je iets op het moment zelf besluit.

I will have a salad and chicken.

Ontkenningen en vraagzinnen

Bij ontkennende zinnen plaats je het woord "not" tussen "will" en het werkwoord.

They will not arrive on time. OF They won't arrive on time.

Bij vraagzinnen komt "will" vooraan in de zin. 

Let op! Bij I and we gebruik je "shall" in plaats van will.
