Research with a group: 15 minutes
Get into groups of 3-4 students
Pick an interesting topic from the list
Research that topic online and find a minimum of five pieces of information
Collect your information and some visual aides on a Powerpoint or LessonUp slide. Be prepared to share your findings in English with the class!
Tip: search news articles, social media, YouTube, travel blogs, and tourism websites to get started.
Possible topics:
- restaurants and food scene
- royalty and royal family proceedings
- diversity and demographics (“The world in one city” / “melting pot”)
- Typical London things (telephone booths, double decker buses, black cabs, etc)
- architecture and famous landmarks
- religious history, role of church in London life
- shopping, fashion, and lifestyle
...or anything else you can think of that interests you! Possible options include music industry, London celebrities, geographic location, history, football clubs, modern life, etc.
