Relative pronoun

• Betrekkelijk voornaamwoord
• Extra informatie geven over iets of iemand
• Who, which, that, whose 

Who

• Verwijzen naar mensen 
• This is my sister, who shares a room with me.
• Is that the man who gave you a compliment?

Which

• Verwijzen naar dieren en dingen 
• We loved our hotel, which was on the seafront.
• I like the song which is on the radio now.

That

• Kun je in plaats van who of which gebruiken
• LET OP! Dit kan alleen als je de bijzin niet kunt weglaten, omdat de zin dan onduidelijk wordt. Er staat dan géén komma voor zo'n bijzin.
• Is that the man that/who gave you a compliment?
• I like the song that/which is on the radio now.
• This is my sister, that shares a room with me.

Whose

• Geeft aan van wie iets is, of waar iets bij hoort 
• There was a boy whose name was Jim.
• The house whose roof collapsed is gone now.
