GRAMMAR: I/you/he/she/etc. 

This lesson will refresh your knowledge on the use of I/you/he/she/it/we/you/they and my/mine/his/hers/etc.

Wat betekenen deze woorden ook alweer? En wanneer gebruik je welke?

Uitleg:

Als je over jezelf of iemand anders praat in het Engels, gebruik je woorden als "I" (ik), "they" (zij) of "we" (wij). Dit kan in het enkelvoud (dat het gaat om 1 persoon/ding/dier) of meervoud (dat het gaat om meerdere personen/dingen/dieren). Kijk eens naar de volgende slide:

"You" kan zoals je ziet gebruikt worden voor: 

1. Jij > You are smart.

2. U (beleefheidsvorm) > You are the queen.  

3. Jullie (meervoud) > You are all in a group together.

Soms heb je het over bezit, hoe moet dat ook alweer?

Wat bedoel ik met "bezit"?  Bezit geeft aan van wie of wat iets is.

- Mijn schoenen staan daar --> "mijn" geeft aan van wie de schoenen zijn, namelijk van mij. 

- Jouw vrienden zijn grappig --> "jouw" geeft aan van wie de vrienden zijn, namelijk van jou. 

- Hun boeken liggen nog in het lokaal --> "Hun" geeft aan van wie de boeken zijn, namelijk van hen. 

Voorbeelden:

- My shoes are over there --> those shoes are mine. (mijn/van mij)

- Your books are in your bag --> those books are yours. (jouw/van jou)

- His friends are funny --> those are his friends. (zijn/van hem)

- Her food looks good --> that food is hers. (haar/van haar)

- Its leg is broken --> that dog broke its leg. (diens)

- Our friend is home --> she is a friend of ours. (onze/van ons)

- Their homework is similar --> that homework is theirs. (hun/van hun)

- Your teacher is the best --> that is a teacher of yours. (jullie/van jullie)
