Question tags: 

1. Is the first part affirmative > the tag is negative

             E.g. He is good, isn't he?

 2. Firs part negative > tag is affirmative 

             E.g. He isn't good, is he?

Still familiar?

2.  Auxiliary (can, must, will, etc.) or form of  "to be" > basis of your tag....so: 

E.g. He can help me, can't he?

 

So far so good:

3. No auxiliary / form of "to be"? Use form of "to do"

E.g. They watch TV, don't they? 

E.g. They don't watch TV, do they?

Mind the tense!

Use the same tense in both parts of the sentence: 

           

             E.g. The man watches TV, doesn't he?

                     The man watched TV, didn't he?
