But first... 

What forms were there again?

• past simple

- Things in the past that have finished

• past continuous

- interruptions in the past

- Things that happened at the same time (In the past) 

Past simple

word ends in -ed

To walk - I walked to the store

To talk - She talked all day long

What is the dumbest thing you did as a kid? use a verb ending in -ed

I loved that dog. He ___ such a good boy. (to be)

If you know that one, you come a long way when talking about the past! 

I promised I would explain this one again... so here it is

First: A tip to remember:

Elke tijd heeft een continuous :

Past continuous - present continuous - future continuous

I was walking               - I am walking -         I will be walking

All of these, use the -ing form

Past continuous: 

Er is iets gaande in het verleden, dat werd onderbroken door iets anders.

I was walking to the store, when suddenly my phone rang

So... there are 2 things happening in the sentence.

They were talking, when someone screamed

The part that happened first, uses the -ing ending.

When my brother walked into my room, I was calling

The part that interrupted, uses the past simple

When I was eating, the door opened. 

Describe 2 things you once did at the same time. (In the past, ofcourse)

When 2 things happened the same time in the past

you use the -ing form for both

I was eating while she was reading.

While I was laughing, they were crying.

Write down 2 things you can do at the same time. Use the word "while".
