Future Present Simple

Je kunt de present simple gebruiken als je spreekt over tijdschema’s, roosters en dienstregelingen in de toekomst (dit noemen we dan de future present simple):

- My work starts at nine o'clock.

- We stay in Paris for one more week.

- The bus leaves in 30 minutes.

The plane ..... (to arrive) at 15.20h

Be going to

Je gebruik be going to wanneer iemand een voorspelling doet en er bewijs is. En wanneer iemand iets van plan is / een beslissing maakt en dat al vaststaat / eerder is afgesproken.

- Frits: "Patrick told me you're going on holiday."

- Marly: "Yes, we are going to invite our dearest friends to come with us."

--> Het is al eerder afgesproken --> to be going to + hele werkwoord

- He read that the weather is going to be great next week.

- Look at the dissappearing clouds. It is going to be sunny any moment now.

--> Er is wel bewijs (hij las het / ziet het gebeuren) --> to be going to + hele werkwoord

Je gebruikt will + hele werkwoord als:

- iemand een voorspelling doet zonder dat er bewijs is.

- iemand iets van plan is / een beslissing maakt en dat op dat moment aangeeft.

- Marly: "Let's go on holiday with a nice group of friends!"

- Patrick: "What a good plan! We will invite our dear friends to come with us!"

--> Patrick geeft het op dit moment aan --> will + hele werkwoord

- I think that the weather will be fantastic tomorrow

- Perhaps the sun will shine tomorrow.

--> Er is geen bewijs --> will + hele werkwoord
