Introduction to Balloon Debate

A balloon debate involves a scenario where a group of people, each representing a famous figure, are in a hot air balloon The goal is to decide who should be thrown out of the balloon first, and why.

Selecting a Famous Person

Each group will choose a famous person to represent in the balloon debate. Research and prepare arguments for why your chosen person should stay in the balloon.

Internet Research

Use the internet to gather information about the famous person you have chosen. Focus on their accomplishments, contributions, and impact on society.

Debate Preparation

Discuss and compile reasons why your chosen person should be kept in the balloon. Each group member should be prepared to defend their position.

Decision Making

In your group, decide who should be thrown out of the balloon first and present your arguments to the class.

Presenting Arguments

Each group will present their chosen person and the reasons for either keeping or eliminating them from the balloon.

Reflection and Discussion

Reflect on the reasons presented by other groups and engage in a class discussion about the ethical and moral considerations in making such decisions.
