After 10 minutes, each student shares his/her analyses with the other student.
  1. Several stylistic devices are highlighted in green (In Bubble's song you're encouraged to find more yourself!). Identify the stylistic devices. (Optional extra challenge: what is the effect?)
  2. What is the message of the song?

Option 1: Written analysis
Come up with a title.

In your introduction you mention the title of the song, introduce the artist and discuss background information. You also discuss what will be your main point about your song. For instance, “I think this song is written to let people who are heart-broken know that they are not alone” (of course you can go a lot deeper than this).

Option 1: Written Analysis
In the body of your analysis (2-3 paragraphs), you explain your main point by using examples from the lyrics. Discuss the message of the song and explain what it is about. Remember, you are not summarizing the song, but you are explaining the meaning to your reader. Make sure that you identify stylistic devices in the song, for instance, repetition, alliteration, imagery, metaphor and explain their effects (at least 3 different stylistic devices). You can also discuss the type of words used the lyrics and the connotations. Make sure that you analyze the lyrics in depth.

In your conclusion, come back to your main point and repeat your most important observations.
± 250 - 300 words.
