There are three articles.

First the indefinite article

definite article = the  

Je gebruikt GEEN 'the' bij een algemene verwijzing naar:	Je gebruik WEL 'the' als je specifiek verwijst naar:
publiek gebouw - He was brought to hosipital by an ambulance.	publiek gebouw - He was brought to the hospital in Roosendaal.
jaargetijde - I love autumn,	jaargetijde - I was born in the autumn of 1959.
maaltijd - She never skips breakfast.	maaltijd - She loved the breakfast her mum made her.
