  • "Used to" + Infinitive
  • To say what used to happen in the past
  • "I used to go to the zoo every thursday, but they closed last month."
  • "He used to be sad, but then he met her."
  • "Before they moved to the US, we used to hang out often."

  • He - of becoming an artist. (dromen)
  • They - English, but now it's their favorite subject. (haten)
  • She - chess. (houden van)
  • Winter - way colder. (zijn)

  • What are tag questions?
  • Do we use them in Dutch? Examples?
  • "Toch?" "Hé" "Of niet?"
  • Used to verify if you are correct.
  • For example: "Your name is John, isn't it?"

How to use them:
  • After a positive sentence, use a negative tag question;
  • For example: Today is Wednesday, isn't it?"
  • After a negative sentence, use a positive tag question;
  • For example: That isn't true, is it?

In the tag question you repeat the following verbs:
  • Forms of "to be", "to have", "can" and "could"
  • If none of these are in the sentence, use: correct form of "to do".
  • The subject of the tag question is the personal pronoun:
  • I, you, he, she, it, they, we, you or there
